about Steve

Working alongside SME’s of all shapes and sizes, Steve has an excellent insight into the day to day machinations within the world of commerce. He is very knowledgeable around balance sheets, cashflows and banking propositions, and can bring his experience and professionalism to help support and guide businesses in the next phase of their journey.

Throughout his career at Lloyds, Steve built a reputation for ‘getting things done’, and he applied his knowledge and skill across the commercial landscape with very positive outcomes. From critiquing an early stage lending proposition for a start-up business, to identifying working capital opportunities for an established business, Steve would ensure that the underlying business felt ‘listened to’ and ‘valued’ throughout, and he would provide feedback and guidance where appropriate.

As part of the Regional Director role, Steve developed a strong professional network which he still maintains today. He regularly refers clients to the various professions and is able to use this network to provide additional help and support to his clients as deemed appropriate.

Engaging with businesses at a strategic level, Steve has a wealth of experience whether it be in the boardroom, on a site visit or in a conference centre.

As an experienced mentor, Steve facilitates developmental and progressive ‘sessions’ where his extensive commercial background is well received in terms of the ‘stretch and challenge’ that he brings to the sessions, which support career growth, succession planning and external footprinting.

As a non-executive Director with The Jockey Club, Steve has worked with the Regional Executive Board to deliver development programmes for the teams, and has supported the implementation of commercial initiatives and a broader client awareness campaign.
